Yes. Removing duplicates, sorting, grouping, sessions and search all work without a connection, and so does the on-device AI once Chrome has downloaded its model.
A Pro license keeps working for up to 14 days offline, and checks in again when you’re back. Only a cloud AI provider, if you choose one, needs the internet.
No. TabBuddy uses the AI built into Chrome, which runs on your computer and needs no key, no account and no payment.
If your computer can’t run it, or you’d like a bigger model, Pro lets you add your own Gemini, Claude or OpenAI key. And when no AI is available, features fall back to plain rules, like grouping by site, and tell you so.
By default, Gemini Nano: the model built into Chrome, running on your device. It needs a recent version of Chrome on a desktop computer that meets Google’s hardware requirements, and TabBuddy tells you if yours doesn’t.
With Pro you can pick Gemini, Claude or OpenAI instead, with your own API key. You pay the provider directly, only for what you use, and TabBuddy sends them only what a feature needs.
One license works on up to 3 of your computers. Switching to a new one? Move the license from Settings → Plan on the old computer, then activate it on the new one.
