What’s new in TabBuddy AI, release by release.

1.0.0 · October 20, 2026

The first release of TabBuddy AI.

Tabs

  • Remove duplicates in one click, keeping the pinned or active copy, with Undo. Optional auto-close for new copies.
  • Sort a window by title, site or last used. Pinned tabs stay first and tab groups move as whole blocks.
  • Group by site, with each site keeping its color.
  • Suspend tabs you aren't using to free memory, by hand or automatically after a few minutes.
  • Search every open tab from the popup, or press Alt+T to open it from any page.

AI

  • Organize with AI groups loose tabs by what you're working on. Preview, rename and move tabs before you apply, and undo it after.
  • AI command bar (⌘⇧K / Ctrl+Shift+K) turns a request in plain words into actions, and asks before closing or suspending anything.
  • Smart search finds pages from a vague description across open tabs and history.
  • Summaries of a tab or a whole tab group in the side panel.
  • On-device AI by default, with your own Gemini, Claude or OpenAI key as an option.

Sessions, stats and more

  • Sessions save a window, or all of them, with their tab groups and pinned tabs. Export to Markdown or JSON, and import.
  • Dashboard with every window, tab group and tab, with bulk actions and drag and drop.
  • Stats on duplicates removed, tabs suspended and memory saved.
  • Light and dark themes, a 7-day trial of every Pro feature, and a free plan after it.
